And I though the baby was about to be born a couple of weeks ago! Well, it seems like it's having a good time inside my belly because it shows no signs of coming out. So suddenly, I have lots of spare time to do - nothing. But not just nothing, we're getting things done around the house too. Today a guy with an excavator started to rearrange our garden to prepare for stairs, lawns and plantations. It feels a bit surreal that we might actually have a lawn by springtime!
As a part of the NRG (National Resource Group) in AIESEC, I've changed the look on my blog temporarly. I'll be changing back within short. This AIESEC look is only for show for the others in AIESEC...
I've started my maternity leave, 4 weeks before baby ETA. Purpose is to rest and get everything sorted, like ordering some garden work, a chimney and a tileworker. Yes, that's correct, there's still some work to be done around the house. Elsa, my daughter, asks me everyday now when the baby is coming out. She has no idea what's coming - if she did, she wouldn't be so eager. Personally. I'd like it to come a bit earlier than in four weeks, but not just yet, I have some sorting out to do first. But I can't walk many steps before I get contractions and I start to feel like a hippo. I kind of understand now how it feels to get old. And fat.
I just read in Business week that Facebook is now making some changes that makes it less rewarding to create applications that are just designed to spread with very little user benefit. I think that's great news - I've seen some really bad examples where you are lured into a chain of adding applications you never asked for before you actually get to the point of the application you wanted to install in the first place.
We're currently working on an updated version of our Reb Me application that will make it even easier than before to communicate with your Facebook network using your voice and your mobile phone. It's been quite tempting to use some of the bad viral standards used by other applications just to achieve a higher ranking, but now it seems that focus on usability and user benefit - bring your online network to your phone - is going to give us just that. Just wait and see!
Finally, Rebtel's facebook application is ready for launch! It's been fun as hell to create this little thing that turned out to become a much leaner tool for creating local numbers for your friends than the rebtel website. And even if we haven't really started to promote it, it's already spreading.
Some people have said it's interesting because it's only the second VoIP application on Facebook. I'm not sure that's true - there are a few more. But I really think that this is an application that gives users a lasting value, helping them to save money everyday.
Why don\t you try it out! And then tell me how you like it so I can improve it. Here or at facebook.
I think my baby wants out. I've been through this twice already, and I recognize the feeling of a baby head advancing downwards. I'm supposed to work for three more weeks, and then the plan is to have a couple of weeks resting and preparations before the baby comes out, but right now I can's see that happening. But on the other hand - you never know. Maybe it just wants to make sure I don't forget about it's existence. Maybe it just wants me to sit down and take it easy. Do you hear that everybody!!!!
